Letter to a friend

Hello, my dearest friend

I hope you are well. It feels like an eternity has passed between us in the blink of an eye.

On my end of eternity, it’s been a hollow dream. My fears and failures haunt me while I search my soul for the strength to carry on. But I continue if only because I know that you are still out there, like a bright flame against the cold night sky.

The memory of your warmth keeps me safe from the wolves in my mind, and I want to thank you for entering my life like a wildfire but never burning my world down around me.

Where ever you are in this great big world, I hope you carry the knowledge that you are always enough. I hope that memories of joy insulate you from this cold world. And I hope you find comfort in our friendship when you feel lost. I may be far away, but I’m right there with you, tucked safely in the back of your mind.

Your’s faithfully

Liz
